WADMerger 1.95 Beta 2 - Readme
==============================

Beta Warning
------------
This is a beta version of wadmerger. Some new features have not been tested very much, so be carefull with them.

Introduction
------------
WADMerger is a program to copy WAD objects from a WAD or TR level to another WAD and export/import objects. You can also enable and disable the collesion from objects and add textures. There is also an animation editor included.

Included files
--------------
The following files are includes with the WADMerger zip file:

Readme.txt			This file.
WADMerger.jpg Small image from the WADMerger window with some info
TR4Objects.dat Data file containing object names, sounds and smartcopy data.
Switches.dat Data file containing some animations from Lara. Used for changing switch animations
WADMerger Documentation\	Folder that have the docs in it.
Skins\ Folder with skins for the new design of WADMerger
WADMerger.exe			The WADMerger program

Wads
====
WADMerger is a wad editor. Of course you can get objects from other wads and tr levels, but you can also check out the TRLE Search Engine. On this site you can find a list of almost every wad that is released. And there are almost 400 wads listed (more then 200 outfits and 100 enemies). I'm sure you find something there. This is also the place to get the completely indexed resource wads which can contain an archive of a few hundred static meshes.

The documentation
=================
If you unzip all files from the zip file you downloaded there will be a folder called WADMerger Documentation. In there are the manuals for WADMerger.

Runtime
-------
WADMerger needs the visual basic 5 runtime.
You also need zlib (for TR4&5 levels) installed. You can download all runtimes needed here:
http://trwad.tripod.com/Download/Runtime.zip (2.03 MB)

Known problems
--------------
* Sounds from TR4&5 levels won't work. These games have a differend format then TRLE uses. You must convert the sound samples to the pcm format manually.
* Levels saved with TRViewer can have a few wrong textures on meshes.
* For some reason the objects in the animation viewer are inverted. The left arm of lara is in reality the right one. I don't know what causes this. I try to fix it. However, if you keep this in mind, you can stil make new animations. Just remember that the left arm is the right and the right one the left.
* If you feed the wadmerger.exe file to your goldfish, it might die.
* Sometimes TR4 levels give problems. Reason unknown, cause whenever I try to find the reason, it works correctly (it mostly works if you kneel before the pc).

To all webmasters
-----------------
I've decided that every webmaster is allowed to host (not link to my site) this zip file, if you agree with the following rules:
- None of the files in this zip file may be changed.
- My name must be mentioned (I hope it's spelled right, I'm to lazy to get a dictionary) on the page where the download link is.
- You may only host the last released version.
