Lara has finally put what happened in "The Last Revelation" behind her. All is going well until Winsten starts acting weird; seaking around, blocking off various rooms in the manor, and even replacing the fish the the aquarium with crocodiles! Lara unravels what he has been hiding to find that the tribe that saved her after the collaspe is in serious danger. Their numbers are diminishing and they haven't been heard from in a very long time, but no one has done anything about it. Lara knows that SHE is the only one who can save them, even if it means she might not get a second chance like the last time.

I have tried to put in all the elements of what I think makes Tomb Raider great: Lara's Home, a few urban levels, mostly exploring and puzzle solving, and one level where you just get to shoot your heart out

A lot of the earlier screens and the original trailer has been deleted. Please look for my newest post for a much needed update

how do you make the texures of the rocks in the ceiling so realistic? i tried it, but i always get the stretched triangular textures.

and i dont get them tiled, why is this?

the lower screen does remind me a bit to my level, maybe because i use the same textures

To get the stone right, it just takes A LOT of patience! I also use 128x128 textures to reduce the amount of stretching.

Sorry for the lack of updates, but I took a break from level editing. First because I got a PS3 (bad excuse), but then because of other reasons including school. (better excuse) Anyway, I now have the plot and level order pretty much all squared away. Perhaps I'll provide more details later, but for now here's some new screen shots of the progress I have made.

I now have all the levels pretty much planned out so here is the full list of levels (and their current status):
Croft Manor (finished)
Downtown Cairo (Planned and started building but it may or may not make it into the final game)
Collaspe Site (finished except for a few bugs)
Abandoned Camp (built, but puzzles have to be put in and perfected)
Underground Oasis (finished-just needs to be fine tuned)
Train - working title (finished-just needs to be fine tuned)
Factory- working title (planned, and mapped out on paper)
Escape- working title (noting is planned yet but I have the basic idea)
Where the River Leads - Bonus level (not planed but I have the basic idea)

I'd say overall I'm about 50% done right now.

Right now I would appreciate hearing from people who might be willing to test a beta level set (of probably 4 levels) I would like tested probably around the end of the month...
OR
Anyone who has the time and is willing to help make a few objects that are too difficult for my meager meta skills to handle

I checked out your video on YouTube.
Looks good. You guys got me amped,so I downloaded, installed TRLE, TextEdit (<-although I think PaintShop Pro could suffice for that one).

I am kind of a book person, wish there was a TRLE Manual or at least a .pdf file to read. I suppose trial and error are my only resources to learn this editor.

I dont get it.How would Winston know this stuff? Why would he act so weird?i dont think someone would put crocodiles and stuff just because of this.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.

I haven't kept this thread up, sorry. Here is a much needed update.

I've created a new trailer, it can be found here

Levels:
Croft Manor
Downtown Cairo (may not be included in final game)
Collaspe Site
Abandoned Camp
Underground Oasis
Midnight Train
The Museum at Otatop Inc.
The Factory
Escape
Where the River Leads (Bonus Level)

Current Status... About 50%

I know you all hate people who mindlessly request help, and I've tried really hard to not be that person but there is only so much I can do by myself. I would REALLY appreciate anyone who is willing to donate a bit of their time to help me out with little things as I go about finishing this game.

So here's a list (PM me if you are interested)

An object maker or two (I make most simple things but I lack the skills neccessary to make a few more complicated objects) I have concepts for most objects I would like

Texture creation. I know it sounds vague but without photoshop I can't make my own HQ textures that I have in mind

Testers (well not at the moment but soon)

People to just help me when I'm stuck. (I know the ins and outs of NGLE but sometimes it helps to have another person think through a problem)

Voice Actors (I have lines to audition, PM me)
Naomi (female)
Tribe member (male)
Construction worker (male)
Security Oficer (male)
Tour guide(s) (male or female)

I hope someone is interested. I know a lot of you are working on your own projects. I wouldn't want to accept all this help for nothing so I would be willing to make trailers for other peoples' games in exchange for work. It maight save some people time. IDK

Thanks in advanced!

More screens and info can be found in this thread (it is updated much more often)

I could do some voice acting, if you still need a female voice I have a foreign accent, but it's not that bad, I hope. If you don't mind that, I'd be more than happy to help out.
Oh mighty Lord! Why did you take my hair?!
Are you making a carpet for Heaven's stairs?!

Yes, it's been a very long time since I put up an update but I took yet another break from LE. But since it's already June I got panicked about not finishing (I am the world's worst procrastinator) and kicked it into high gear and made tons of progress

First, I updated the textures in Croft Manor (the level I first started with two years ago) You can see some of the results here from these screens
........Original....................Updated Textures...

I've also come closer to finishing another level: Abondoned Camp
This level will feature two completely different paths you can take, each with different puzzles, enemies, and areas. You will have a choice at the beginning of the level of which path you want to go on, or you can choose to explore by yourself but it's a HUGE level so be warned
These are some screens from one of the paths. Although you can visit most of these areas from any path but they won't help you.

Here's few of the more impressive things I've made in meta lately.
....Electric Generator..............Water Filter....................Backhoe.......

Is anyone available/willing to help me textures these?

I just thought this was a funny shot. It seems Lara and Indiana Jones have more in common than they think

Also I would appreciate it if everyone took a look at this pic.

I need to see how the lighting looks on other people's computers. On my PC, it's way too dark but on my laptop it's way too light.
It should be light enough that you don't need to use flares to see but it should be a little dark. Let me know how it looks on your computer so I can find the best lighting level.

Okay, longest post ever but the last thing I want to say is thanks for all positive the comments about the new guide.
